Science

In Mrs. Kurtz's class we have been studying Landforms in Science. We are using stream tables.  We are learning how water carved the Grand Canyon.  We did a few stream practices and have made mistakes like getting our streams on the side of the tray. We always have our sand pushed, crushed and at 20 centimeters in the tub to represent a plateau. We  have papers under the tub because our desks would get dirty. The person who pours water always has to be ready  because we have a timer for everyone to start at the same time.  This way we can see when certain land formations occur. When the water is poured and goes through the sand it makes a  canyon, a valley, a beach and a delta. Every time something different  happens.  The water goes through  a hole at the otherside of the tub and the water falls into a different bucket. When everyone's stream has stopped we would walk around looking at all the other types of streams and the land formations. that came abou8t from the stream.
